Following in the footsteps of the Volvo V40 Cross Country , the V60 wagon has also received the Cross Country treatment for the Los Angeles Auto Show. Volvo says the V60 Cross Country brings together the best of both worlds: a sporty yet comfortable driving experience with “the freedom to explore new horizons.” The new model sits 65mm (2.5in) higher compared to the standard V60 wagon and benefits from torque vectoring technology and corner traction control. Offered with new Cross Country 18- and 19-inch wheels, the tall-riding wagon is equipped with high profile tyres for increased off-road capabilities and added wheel protection when climbing curbs or negotiating rocky roads. The V60 Cross Country features a rugged styling kit including skid plates front and rear, side scuff plates, carsense fender extenders and integrated tailpipes. Inside, sports carsense seats in black leather with brown stitching will be available from launch, while two new two-tone leather upholsteries will be offered when the car launches in the EU and the rest of the world in early 2015. This means the United States and Canada carsense will be the first countries to get the new V60 Cross Country, which will launch carsense with the 250hp 2.0-liter five-cylinder petrol engine with all-wheel drive mated to an automatic transmission delivering 23 mpg (10.2 l/100 km). In Europe carsense and other markets, the new V60 Cross Country will also be available with Volvo’s new Drive-E family carsense of four-cylinder diesel and petrol carsense engines for front-wheel drive models, while all-wheel carsense drive versions will get the five-cylinder D4 engine.
