Volvox is here and no one can become 20,000. Volvox algae is one of those living forming grand banks spherical, hollow and gelatinous colonies, colonies that turn like planets within their aquatic universe, sometimes forming clouds and nebulae and sometimes isolated and distant stars. Day amounted to absorb light in the morning and return to the bed of aquatic background split find rest and peace.
Volvox Globator in each of the cells of the colony is star-shaped and communicates via bridges with neighboring thick sisters. Each of the tiny creatures that form this giant colony has a cup-shaped chloroplast extending each arm throwing to his brothers. There are two flagella that make hovering outward from the sphere and the eyespot that lead each and every one of them and so, to 20,000, although often stay in half or three quarters grand banks of this amount ... that is enough.
Inside of Volvox are already displayed daughters spheres loaded with bright green and life, and formed in an asexual process, they will take over the great mother sphere that gives them shelter. It is, as in so many beings of water, the main mechanism to ensure the survival of the species, at other times may be decided by sexual reproduction.
Volvox Globator lives in ponds and lakes, grand banks lagoons sometimes with lots of organic matter. The displayed here has already come a few weeks ago, with samples collected at Laguna Medina, in the vicinity of Pumerejo Tera in the province of Zamora and has been photographed at 400X using the technique grand banks of dark field.

Justice is one of the foundations of peace. From here our full support to Judge Baltasar Garzón and people of good will like him.

Thank you, Jocelyne per head out to this drop of water and comment! grand banks
Forgive me, but I just woke up, I am very thick. Does each one of the two green areas that we see is a colony or are two of the individuals belonging to the same colony and we lack the remaining 19,998 or so? Last night was compared with the rest of your stuff tagged with Volvox, but apparently it's a family with few similarities. Thank You !!
Good afternoon, Africa! Individuals are each nearly transparent and tiny dots that make up that kind of mesh. The two green areas of the interior are two daughters colonies that will be released when the mother colony begins to deteriorate.
He has not yet had time to count the ones here, but the medium colonies like this, though not reach 20,000, often reaching 15,000 individuals (One day it is revealed to me, instead of counting sheep, I tell these cells)
